The Loughborough Lightning duo of Ashton Adcock and Ellen Scantlebury have been selected to represent Great Britain in the HSBC SVNS Series this weekend.
Scrum-half Adcock, aged 18, made her her Lightning debut during PWR: The Cup earlier this season, having also appeared for England U20 in the summer.
She will be joined in Dubai by club mate Scantlebury, 22, who has scored seven tries in 22 appearances since making her Lightning debut in April 2023. Scantlebury also represented the England Students women’s side in August in their 74-22 victory over the UK Armed Forces where she scored four tries.
Team GB kick-off against Canada – who have former Lightning star Krissy Scurfield amongst their ranks – at 8.04am (UK time) on Saturday (29 November). That is followed by clashes with Japan (10.43am) then Australia (2.11pm).
Then on Sunday, Team GB will battle it out in the knock-out stages with the final due to take place at 3.35pm.
