Loughborough Lightning are proud to announce the creation of a brand-new Lightning Supporter Engagement Group.
Designed to strengthen dialogue with fans, elevate the matchday experience, and help build an even more connected, inclusive, and vibrant supporter community, the group will consist of up to ten supporters who reflect the club’s diverse and multi-generational fanbase.
The initiative forms a key part of Lightning’s commitment to ensuring supporters have a clear, structured way to share feedback, shape the atmosphere, and contribute directly to the evolution of the club’s identity, both on and off the field.
Participants will be required to attend a minimum of four online meetings per year, and serve for a minimum of one season and a maximum of four years.
They are encouraged to engage in ongoing communication between meetings, contribute ideas, give feedback and supporter insight, and support initiatives on matchdays.
The 2026/27 season is the fourth in which Loughborough Lightning have played all of their regular JAECOO PWR season games at Franklin’s Gardens, and the sixth season since the strategic partnership with Saints and Lightning was announced in 2021.
“Creating a Lightning Supporter Engagement Group is an exciting step as the Lightning supporter base continues to grow here at Franklin’s Gardens,” said Northampton Saints Chief Executive Officer, Julia Chapman.
“We are constantly trying to develop and evolve the supporter experience, and we have seen first-hand through the creation of the Saints Supporter Engagement Group in 2021 how beneficial it can be.
“In order to create the best representation of our supporter base, we’re looking for applicants from a range of backgrounds – so whether you’re a Season Ticket Holder or occasional visitor, live in Northampton, Loughborough, or further afield, been to one Lightning game or dozens, if you are passionate about being a Lightning supporter, we want to hear from you!”
The Lightning Supporter Engagement Group will explore opportunities to enhance atmosphere, identity, and engagement across the Lightning community, including:
- Developing a dedicated supporter section
- Creating chants, traditions, and identity-building moments
- Organising pre‑ and post‑match meetups
- Encouraging fan-generated content
- Creating opportunities for supporters to connect at home games, away fixtures, and online
- Fostering a deeper sense of belonging and shared identity
