Six Loughborough Lightning players have been included in Kevin Rouet’s squad for Canada's first three fixtures of the 2026 WXV Global Series this September.
Lightning player #154 Fancy Bermudez is joined in the squad by new summer signings Brooke Rempel, Kiki Idowu, Pamphinette Buisa, Rachel Smith and Florence Symonds in 36-player squad for the tournament.
“It was important for us to assemble our strongest team,” said Rouet. “Because of our ‘One Squad’ philosophy, we had some players not available during PAC4 earlier this year because they were playing with the sevens team in Hong Kong.
“This September and October, we have all our players available. It will be good to have everyone in the same place for the next two months, and we will still need to find a balance between staying competitive while also giving players the opportunity to develop and showcase themselves. Overall, everyone is just very happy to get back together again.”
The six Lightning players will be joined by Lightning Head Coach Nathan Smith, who is being seconded to the Canada coaching team for a second time this year for the Canucks’ fixtures against England (3), USA, Scotland and France.
