Early Bird tickets are now on sale for Loughborough Lightning’s eagerly-anticipated first game of the JAECOO PWR 2026/27 season against Trailfinders Women at Franklin’s Gardens.
The African Violets raise the curtain for the new campaign under the Friday Night Lights on 20 November (kick-off: 7.30pm) against last season’s beaten finalists.
Lightning’s first home game in nearly six months at the Gardens will see the squad’s Red Roses stars return to Club duty – along with the opportunity to catch a first glimpse of a group of new signings who are currently away on international duty with Canada at the WXV Global Series.
This head-to-head always delivers fireworks in Northampton – with the last two encounters at the Gardens being settled by late scores as Fancy Bermudez crossed to tie up December 2025’s meeting – and in February of that year, Helena Rowland sealed victory with a thrilling dropgoal in the concluding round of the 2024/25 season.
There’s some extra spice to the fixture this season as former Lightning players Helen Nelson and Bo Westcombe-Evans could make an immediate return to face Lightning in Round 1 following their summer departures.
