Kendall Waudby

Waudby picked in Wales squad for Six Nations

Loughborough Lightning forward Kendall Waudby has been picked in the 38-player  Wales squad for the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations.

The uncapped hooker/flanker is one of nine uncapped players selected by head coach Sean Lynn ahead of their opening game against Scotland at the Principality Stadium on Saturday 11 April (kick-off: 4.40pm).

It is set to be a milestone week for the 23-year-old, who is in-line to make her 50th appearance for Lightning if selected to face Trailfinders Women in Premiership Women’s Rugby Round 16 on Sunday.

Waudby’s selection takes Lightning’s Six Nations squad participants to 13 following previous announcements that the Red Roses and Scotland selected six Lightning players each for their respective squads.

A further six players were also included in the England U21 training squad for a camp held this week.

Lynn said: “This is a new-look Wales squad, and we made it clear at the start of the season we would select players who were playing regular club rugby in the PWR and the Celtic Challenge.

“We have named 25 players who have Celtic Challenge rugby under their belts, and we have really been impressed by the young Welsh talent now coming through our pathway and playing regularly.

“This is the start of a new four-year World Cup cycle, it is a fresh start, and we need to look to the future and that means giving players an opportunity to taste Test match rugby.

“We have a good blend of experienced internationals and new faces, and selection was driven by those who have demonstrated an appetite to learn and a desire to work hard.”
