Boyd’s fledgling rugby career so far has already seen extreme highs, and a significant low. She was involved in a road traffic collision while heading to an England U20 camp with three teammates (Grace Clifford, Molly Luthayi and Lia Green) and suffered a back injury that ended her 2023/24 season.

But the second row/back row powered straight back into action for Lightning, adding eight senior appearances to her name in a breakout 2024/25 season, following the four she made in the previous campaign.
