Luthayi had only celebrated her 18th birthday three months prior to making her Lightning debut in 2022 as a replacement against Exeter Chiefs.

A first start followed later that year against Wasps when she also crossed the line for her first Lightning try. 

The centre suffered injuries during a road traffic collision that occurred with three of her teammates in January 2024 – which contributed to her not pulling on a Lightning shirt for nearly three years. Her return to action came for England Under-20s in the summer of 2025, followed by a first Lightning appearance in two-and-a-half years in the PWR: The Cup encounter with Sale Sharks in August 2025.
