The England Under-20 tighthead prop signed for Loughborough Lightning in December 2023 and made her Lightning debut soon afterwards, starting against the defending Premiership Women’s Rugby champions Gloucester-Hartpury in January 2024.

Formerly of Worcester Warriors until their collapse in 2023, Wells went on to play eight times in the 2023/24 season, establishing herself in the top flight of women’s rugby.

Unfortunately, on June 30 2024, she fractured her tibial plateau, full tore her meniscus, PCI and LCI and partially tore her ACL and MCL – prompting surgery and a lengthy period of rehabilitation which has run into the preparation for the 2025/26 campaign – but hopes are high that a return to the pitch will come this term.
