Peterson’s rugby journey began at Towcester Rugby Club and represented East Midlands at age-grade level, and also participated in the Lightning Centre of Excellence programme for three years.  

After a brief spell at the University of Edinburgh, where she played first team BUCS Super Rugby, she returned home and played Championship rugby for Buckingham Swans. 

During the 2024/25 season, she trained with Lightning during preseason and returned for the 2025/26 PWR Cup campaign, where she became Lightning #143 on her debut against Sale Sharks, which saw her join a group of ten senior players who extended their contracts with the club in July 2026.
