Scotland Women’s newly appointed head coach Sione Fukofuka has included five Loughborough Lightning players in his 50-player training squad.
The group will convene at Oriam, Scotland’s Performance Sports Centre, from Monday 19 January for a week and Lightning will be well represented through Helen Nelson, Elis Martin, Anne Young, Becky Boyd and Lucia Scott.
Injured Lightning scrum-half Leia Brebner-Holden will also return to Scotland to continue her rehabilitation. Christine Belisle is not included following her recently announced retirement from international rugby recently.
Fukofuka said: “I’m hugely excited to lead my first camp as head coach. It’s a fantastic opportunity for both myself and Ioan Cunningham, as new coaches, to build strong connections with the players and align around how we intend to accelerate this programme - especially with squad selection for the Guinness Women’s Six Nations approaching in the Spring.
“We’ve seen some outstanding performances across the PWR, Celtic Challenge and French leagues in recent months, and I’m really looking forward to seeing those players come together in our environment, competing hard and pushing each other to higher standards.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the National Team staff, supported by the pathway performance coaches, as we align and strengthen the program heading into an exciting 2026.”
