The uncapped duo of Haineala Lutui and Keevy Fitzpatrick are amongst five Loughborough Lightning players who have been included in the Red Roses’ first training camp of 2026.
Second row Fitzpatrick, 20, and No.8 Lutui, 19, have been included in the 46-player squad that will assemble today (Monday) at Pennyhill Park, alongside clubmates Sadia Kabeya, Helena Rowland and Lilli Ives Campion
New call-ups Fitzpatrick and Lutui are progressing through the pathway programme at Lightning, representing Loughborough University at BUCS level and progressing into senior rugby with Lightning.
Fitzpatrick made her Lightning debut in April 2024 and has made seven appearances so far in the 2025/26 season – as well as establishing herself as an England U20 international.
Lutui – who also featured for England U20 in 2025 – made her Lightning debut this season in PWR: The Cup, and has gone on to become a Premiership Women’s Rugby force. After seven rounds of action (of which Lutui has featured in six) the No.8/second row is the league’s leading carrier (110), has made the second most gain line carries (53) and is in the top five for offloads (13) too.
“2025 was a memorable year for everyone involved with the Red Roses, and one that will go down in history for rugby in this country,” said England Head Coach John Mitchell.
“As we enter a new cycle, this camp will focus on aligning our communication and resetting our culture to win.
“It is natural for a rugby cycle to go through regeneration which presents exciting opportunities for young players over the next four years. The quicker they can adapt and contribute to the environment will enhance their opportunities.”
