Six Lightning players named in Red Roses squad for Six Nations

Six Loughborough Lightning players have been named in England’s squad for the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations.

Lightning’s three 2025 World Cup winning Red Roses; Sadia Kabeya, Helena Rowland and Lilli Ives Campion, have all been included in John Mitchell’s squad alongside Bo Westcombe-Evans, captain Daisy Hibbert Jones and 19-year-old, Haineala Lutui – all six players are set to feature in club colours this Sunday (22 March, kick-off: 12.15pm) against Gloucester-Hartpury at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens – tickets are available to purchase by clicking HERE.

In her debut season of senior rugby, Lutui has impressed and leads the way as Premiership Women’s Rugby’s most prolific ball carrier (198) and no player has made more than her 93 gain-line carries in the 2025/26 campaign so far.

Westcombe-Evans, who scored on her senior international debut against the USA in September 2024, returns to the England set-up for the first time since her ACL rupture last season. Hot off the back of a hat-trick last weekend at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens against Harlequins, Westcombe-Evans leads the league this season for line breaks with 23.

Hibbert-Jones returns to the international fold having made her Red Roses’ debut in the 2023 WXV against Australia, when she arrived as a replacement for injured club-mate, Kabeya.

Furthermore, for the first time since becoming World Cup champions last September, Kabeya, Ives Campion and Rowland will pull on an England shirt looking to win another Six Nations title, with Rowland in line to earn her 50th cap for her country in the process.

Lightning’s contingent swells to seven with coach Emily Scarratt operating as the Red Roses’ lead attack and backs coach.

The squad will assemble at the England Rugby Performance Centre at Pennyhill Park on Monday 23 March to begin preparations for the tournament.
